Attention WG 7th-9th grade boys, please consider joining the Modified Boys Soccer team. It is not too late!!!
Hello WG Sports Fans!
The fall season is underway. Enjoy some of the images from last week. I’m also writing to remind our fans about the importance of sportsmanship as well. An uptick in the frequency and intensity of bad behavior in recent years at high school events prompted the New York State Public High School Athletic Association to design and approve a spectator sportsmanship policy that will go into effect at the start of the 2023-24 school year. I want all fans to be aware of the new rules that are in place and the consequences for being removed from a game. Spectators can lose the right to attend many of our games for a period of time. Fans removed from games will be required to complete a couple l hour online courses through NFHS Learn. One video is called “Positive Parenting within School Programs” and the other is called “The Parent Seat.” Please see the following online article with more information about this issue and watch the short video to see why many people are choosing not to officiate. It is a sad day when these kinds of unsportsmanlike behaviors rear their heads and punitive actions are needed to improve school safety for athletes, coaches and officials. Let’s reflect on our own potential behaviors, keep ourselves in check at events and stay positive no matter the call. We are the models of our children’s future behavior.

Congratulations to Carly Arnold and Otto Hohle who were selected as this year's Character Counts Award winners. They both spent the afternoon at a league luncheon in Lansing with other award winner from our competing IAC districts. Both are very deserving of this recognition.
Today was the culminating event of the 7th Grade Service Project. Under the direction Mrs. Kellogg and the 7th Grade Team, the Class of 2028 made donations worth $2606 to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and the same amount to the Schuyler Outreach Food Pantry. #WGProud
We honor Memorial Day with an image of our 7th Grade students who visited the Gettysburg Battlefield on Friday. They stand in front of the Eternal Light Peace Memorial, which was dedicated by President FDR in 1938. Let us remember those who courageously gave their lives. #WGProud
