I would like to thank the entire School Community for supporting the 2022-2023 WGCSD Budget! We are excited for what this budget has to offer the students of Watkins Glen!
Public Safety Alert:
Please be mindful of our school buses while out and about in your personal vehicle. This month we have experienced an increase in drivers running the red lights and stop signs of our school buses. Please know that we have cameras on our buses, and we do our best to hold violators accountable. Below is a photo taken from one of our bus cameras, which allow us to track those who violate this traffic law. Please know that we monitor these cameras. Passing a bus while it has its red lights on is illegal and punishable via license points and a $500.00 fine. As a reminder, the red lights and stop signs are in place so students can cross the road safely without fear of being struck by oncoming traffic. Typically, this violation occurs once or twice a year. It has happened 4 times this spring. Please spread the word.
Reminder: School District Climate and Culture Survey:
As we did in the fall, we are partnering with BrightBytes to learn more about our school’s climate and culture. We would like you to take part in our school survey. Your participation is essential to help us form a complete picture of your child’s experience at school and will help us make decisions about where to focus our efforts to improve the school for everyone. All responses will remain anonymous to protect your privacy.
The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. At this point we have only had 15 families participate in the “parents” portion of the survey.

COVID-19 Updates:
Our community infection-rate level has moved from the medium/yellow zone to the high/red zone. However, no changes to our current conditions are required. We want to reiterate that the best thing that we can do is to remain home if you are sick.
Calendar Change Reminder:
As a reminder, there will be no school on May 27, 2022.
