CALLING RECENTLY GRADUATED ALUMNI  We would like to invite recently graduated WGHS Alumni to join our speaker panel, who will discuss their future direction and/or path after graduating high school. We are looking for alumni that would be willing to share their after-high-school experiences and career path chosen with our Junior & Senior students, to help show them opportunities and possible new adventures that can happen after high school . Whether you went to a trade school, joined the work force right after graduating, went into the military, or went to college we would like to showcase these experiences for the SOON to become graduates of 2024 and 2025. The event will be held in the high school auditorium next Friday, January 12th, any questions or if you would like to be on the panel, please call the high school main office. 607-535-3219

The District's Food Service Department will be bringing a NYS farm fresh menu to our students on January 11th. In support of the Farm to School program, locally grown food will be hitting the trays! Lunches will be made with NY products such as ground beef for homemade chili, juice & milk, seasoned potatoes, apple sauce & Cornbread.

Please make note we shifted the Hall of Fame Inductions to approximately a 5:00 PM start. It will be held during the Boys basketball tournament consolation round and finals round on Saturday, December 30th. It will no longer be held at half time of the finals game.

Today and tomorrow, the Boys JV & Varsity Lake Hawks Basketball teams will host the annual Holiday Basketball Tournament. Tickets for adults $5/day or $8 for both days, students and Senior citizens $3/day or $5 for both days. The Hall of Fame Committee is pleased to announce the Watkins Glen Athletic Hall of Fame Induction for 2023 Two coaches and four athletes will be inducted in the WG Athletic Hall of Fame this week during the finals of both the girls and boys Holiday Tournaments. On Thursday, December 28th during half time of the finals for the Melissa B. Wilson Tournament, the following individuals will be inducted at center court of the Fieldhouse. The approximate time will be 8 PM, if the tournament remains on schedule. INDUCTEES: Coach Jeff Smythe – Wrestling and Football (1967-1978) Alexis Castellaneta – Swimming and Diving (2018 Graduate) Patrick Hazlitt- Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field (2017 Graduate) On Saturday, December 30th during half time of the finals for the Boys Holiday Tournament, the following individuals will be inducted at center court of the fieldhouse. The approximate time will be 6:00 PM, if the tournament remains on schedule. As a reminder the Watkins Glen Central School District will be closed from 12.21.23 through 1.1.24. We will return to school on 1.2.24. With the exception of our previously scheduled sporting events, all office will be closed for the duration of the holiday break. #WGProud

The WGHS Fitness Center will be open during the Holiday Break! The WGHS pool facility will be closed during the Holiday Break. There will be No Morning lap swim, evening or Saturday community open swim. See you all in the New Year! Happy Holidays and Happy New Year from the Athletics Department
