Good Afternoon WGCSD Families and Caregivers!
Thank you all for your assistance in making the first full week of school a success! We are off to an awesome start! The first two weeks have flown by, and it is great to see our students adjusting to a more typical school environment. The opening of the new year was a true team effort, and I would like to thank our families for their support as we adjust and adapt.
In addition, thank you for helping the District implement the universal mask mandate in our buildings. While I understand there is significant controversy around this topic, I want to thank you for respecting the rules and regulations that we are required to follow.
Communication Update:
We will not be sending out mass messages for each positive COVID case. I will communicate regularly to give you brief but confidential updates on our in-district infections. Please know that if your child has been directly impacted by a positive case, you will be informed by a member of the Administrative Team, a designee, or the appropriate Health Office.
COVID-19 Update:
Update: After 7.5 days of school, we have had a handful cases between students and staff.
According to the CDC and local public health officials, proper mask wearing, and vaccination remain the two most significant strategies you can implement to limit quarantines and the further spread of infections.
As a reminder, both Health Offices have access to rapid tests for those families that are interested or in need. Parent consent is required for all students under the age of 18.
Important Calendar Update:
Though our district-wide infections remain low, the administrative team has decided to postpone Curriculum Night scheduled for 9.23.21. We will reschedule the event for October as we keep an eye on community spread and in-district infections. Your Building Principals will be in touch as details are finalized.
Again, thank you for your continued support and cooperation!
Go Senecas!
