Good Afternoon Watkins Glen School Community;
As always, I hope this message finds you happy and healthy!
I would again like to thank all the voters that came out to support the 24-25 WGCSD Budget! The approved budget allows us to keep all programming in place for the upcoming school year!
To recap, during this past fall and winter the Planning Council and the Leadership Team worked with the University of Rochester Strategic Planning Team to develop the district’s 24-29 Strategic Plan. The Planning Council members included the Superintendent, School Administration, Board of Education, teachers, staff members, students, parents, and community members.
On November 8 the planning council members drafted priorities, goals, initiatives, and tasks to be used in developing the 2024-2029 Strategic Plan. We are now happy to announce the plan is ready for your eyes as a school community!
By clicking here, you will be able to see the 2024-2029 Strategic Plan.
This plan will guide our decision making for the next five years!
We are extremely proud of the collaborative nature of this plan, and we are excited for all that it will bring to our students and community! I would like to thank everyone that took time to weigh in on the planning process!
To support our efforts here at Watkins, we offer an opportunity where your voice will be heard and used while fulfilling this plan.
The survey results will be used to evaluate the current state of our school-based climate and culture to prepare the steps needed as we work toward creating a culture of belonging here at WG! All stakeholders; Faculty, staff, families, and students will be surveyed confidentially using our partnership with Panorama.
Family Survey:
Families can access the Panorama survey by accessing this link. The survey will be open through June 14th. The survey is short and will take less than 15 minutes. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me directly.
Student Survey:
Before the school year ends, students will take the student survey. We would like all students in grades 3-12 to participate in this survey. If you want to opt your child out of the survey, contact your child’s appropriate main office; any other questions pertaining to the survey, please contact me directly.
As always, thank you for the support,
Respectfully,
Kai A. D'Alleva, WGCSD
Superintendent of Schools
