Fingerprinting Fee Notice

New York State requires fingerprinting of all school district employees, which currently costs $102.00.  This is a one time, non-refundable fee at the expense of the prospective employee.  All positions within the school district require NYSED fingerprint clearances.  For more information, please click the fingerprinting link below.

GST BOCES Teacher Certification Page

GST BOCES will provide teacher certification services to its component schools and their respective employees, effective July 1, 2002. In addition, individuals outside of our school districts that are pursuing certification may apply ($30 fee applies) to this Regional Teacher Certification Office.

Services provided include:

  • Providing teacher certification information to customers in the GST BOCES services area;
  • Assisting and advising candidates in their efforts to secure New York State teacher certification from the New York State Education Department;
  • Advising on requirements, evaluating credentials, and expediting application processing;
  • Providing technical assistance to component school districts regarding teacher certification regulations; and
  • Evaluating applicants for NYS teacher certification and submitting recommendations for issuance of teacher certificates.*

*Decentralized, regional certification offices may evaluate all areas EXCEPT Bi-lingual, ESOL, Foreign credentials, Occupational education, School Business Administrator and School District Administrator. These applications for certificate must be forwarded to Albany, NYSED.
